Social Studies

We will continue to publish our famous southeasterner reports this week. Make sure that you have enough research on your person. You may want to visit your public library for books on your topic. Many of the online sources are not very 4th grade friendly. You may find it easier to get information from a book at your reading level. I will keep you posted on an official deadline.

Reading and Spelling

This week, we will not have spelling or our regular reading instruction due to the ISAT.  Therefore, students will NOT have a spelling or reading test on Friday (3/4).

ISAT

Students will take the first ISAT on Tuesday, March 1. Please make sure that your child has a hearty breakfast and a good night's sleep. I will supply the students with #2 pencils.  Attendance is important for the next few weeks.

REMINDERS

The Ozzie Reading Club sheets for 1st base are due Monday, February 14.

On Monday, February 14, 4B students will have the opportunity to exchange Valentine Cards with their classmates. If your child would like to participate he/she will need to bring a card for every student. Students may also bring an additional snack and beverage to have in the afternoon.

Field Trip Reminder

On Monday, February 7, 4th graders will be going to College of DuPage to see the play Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad.  We will depart Owen at 10:30 a.m. and return to Owen at 1:30p.m.  We will be eating lunch in the classrooms upon our return. Please return a signed permission slip with your child on Monday.   Students will be required to bring a lunch from home.  Milk will be available for students who normally get milk from the cafeteria.  Also, lunches will be available for students who participate in the free lunch program. Please contact me via email if you would like to attend the field trip. 4B will be able to take 2 parents.
