After Winter Break, 4B will begin our study on the Southeast region of the US. We've completed our study guide for the Southeast States. We will have a test on SE states, capitals and abbreviations on Tuesday, January 21. Students can use his/her study guide and the geography link to prepare.

Math Test Corrections

Unit 4 math test corrections are due by Friday, December 13.  You are required to do corrections if you received a 70% or below. The corrections will help to boost your grade. If your score is higher than a 70% you have the option of doing corrections to improve your grade as well.

Science Extra Credit

The due date for the extra credit science job is on Wednesday, December 18. If you would like to earn credit please turn it in on time.

Writing Assignment

Please remember to have your rough draft paragraph completed for Tuesday.  The topic of this paragraph is "Why am I endangered?" Be ready to type the final draft during our writing time on Tuesday.

Just a reminder that "Book It" starts today. Please remember to color in your October calendar each night to log your reading.

Remember to write 1 interesting cricket fact on your note card. You will need your cricket fact to participate in our science activity tomorrow (9/25). You may use one of the links from the website (a book or Google is also acceptable).

We will have a cricket quiz on September 30. You will need to label the parts of the cricket and answer basic questions about the cricket. The Mr. Nussbaum website may be helpful when studying.

Reminder

Curriculum Night is this Wednesday (9/18). It will run from 6:30 to 8:00. Please plan on attending. I will be giving you information about our classroom routines and procedures. I look forward to seeing you.

Science Quiz

Our first science quiz is on Monday, September 23. Students will be required to list the steps of the scientific process in order and write a description for each step. Ask your child how the following sentence can help, "Queen Helen Made Prune Rice Cookies!"

30 Book Reading Challenge

Today we announced the fourth grade 30 book reading challenge! Our big kick-off will be this Friday (August 30). We will have our first of many "flashlight reads."  Please bring a flashlight or small reading light to school on Friday. We will dim the lights and read by flashlight during our independent reading time.
