PARCC testing will begin on Monday, March 5. I have posted a detailed schedule on this website for your convenience. Please make sure that your child comes to school well rested and prepared. Students will take the PARCC Test on his/her Chromebook. Please remind your child to come to school with his/her Chromebook fully charged. Several students do not have earbuds. Students will need a set of earbuds during PARCC testing. If your child does not have earbuds, please send a set to school on Monday, March 5th.

Research/Writing Projects
We are currently working on 2 research/writing projects in 4B. Hopefully your student has already shared that he/she is required to do a "President" research activity and has started to work on it as well. Each student has received a packet that will guide him/her through this activity. This activity will be completed entirely at home. The "President" report is due on March 5.
In class, we are working on "Endangered Animal" reports. I will be guiding the students through this project and it will be completed at school.

Open House
Open House will be on Wednesday, February 28, from 6:30-7:30. We are beginning to prepare for this event at school. Please help your child to bring in the following materials:
Dear Parent,
Our 4th grade class is doing something special for Open House and we need the following items in order to complete the project:
o A long-sleeved shirt (NO sweaters or v-necks)
o A pair of long pants
o 7 very LARGE safety pins (2” long)
o Some old newspaper that you no longer need.
These items should be clean, but not good dress clothes. (Sweat pants, really don’t work very well.)
We must have these items by Friday, February, 23.
Items will be returned in their original condition after Open House.

Person I Admire Speech
Dear 4B Parents,
Next Tuesday (February 13th) students will be giving a speech about a person they admire. It needs to be approximately 2 minutes in length.
Today I sent home information explaining the requirements.. I have also attached the links to our class website so that you can view the note and rubric electronically.
Although not required, they may use notecards as well as other visual aids while giving their speech.
Just wanted to give you all a heads up. Thanks in advance for letting them practice in front of you at home.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
